Speaker Bio: Richard Aitken-Davies [Speeches]
Richard
Aitken-Davies was elected as Deputy
President of ACCA (the Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants) in May
2007. ACCA is the largest and fastest
growing global professional accountancy
body with 296,000 students and 115,000
members in 170 countries.
Mr Aitken-Davies has been on ACCA’s
Council for seven years. He is Chairman
of ACCA’s influential external Financial
Reporting Committee, and serves on
ACCA's Finance Committee, Governance
Committee, ACCA UK Committee,
International Assembly, Nominating
Committee and UK Small Business
Committee.
He has had an extensive career in
industry both in the UK and US,
including holding senior executive roles
in Powergen, Railtrack, London &
Continental Railways, and the Central
Electricity Generating Board.
He has corporate governance expertise,
having been responsible for implementing
Sarbanes-Oxley legislation in the US and
providing advice to audit committees on
both sides of the Atlantic.
He is
married with three children and divides
his time between his homes in Derby and
Wimbledon.
