ICATT COUNCIL FOR 2024/2025 TERM

Marissa Quashie Elected to serve as President

 

Port of Spain, Trinidad-March 28, 2024. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT) held its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and first meeting of Council for the period 2024/025 virtually on March 28, 2024.

Eighty-four (84) ICATT members voted electronically on various resolutions including the election of five members to serve on ICATT’s 12-member Council after 5 vacancies arose.

The following resolutions were submitted for approval and were adopted at the 54th AGM:

  • The 2023 Annual Report of Council
  • The Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ended December 31, 2023, with the auditor’s report thereon.
  • Aegis Business Solutions Reappointed as the Institute’s Auditors until the next Annual General Meeting 
  • Election of Five Members to Council

Following the AGM was the first Council Meeting of the Institute for the 2024/2025 period. Elected to serve as President was Marissa Quashie while Arun Seenath was elected to serve as Vice-President.

Retiring from Council by rotation after having served nine years is Former President Dwayne Rodriguez-Seijas who expressed optimism for the future of the Institute under its new leadership.

Newly elected President Marissa Quashie stated “it is an honor to step into the role of ICATT President and I am confident that with Council and ICATT’s Secretariat led by Marsha Caballero, ICATT will continue to build upon the strong foundation laid by my predecessor whose stellar commitment to the Institute helped to foster the Institute’s positive impact on the profession.   ICATT’s 2024/2025 Council remains committed to fostering innovation, inclusivity, and excellence within our Institute. Our mandate is to seize the opportunities and to further elevate and future- proof the accountancy and finance profession in Trinidad and Tobago.”

Re-elected members of Council included Christopher Ramjit, Edmund Phillips, Marissa Quashie and Renée-Lisa Philip. New elect Member joining the 2024/2025 Council is Tanya Wright.

Tanya Wright, a Director at KPMG, brings over 20 years of audit and assurance expertise, specializing in multinational group engagements across various sectors such as manufacturing, telecommunications, and finance. With a focus on insurance and financial institutions, she also serves as the Director of Learning and Development for KPMG Caricom, previously holding the position of Risk Management Manager at KPMG Trinidad and Tobago

The 12 member ICATT Council for the term 2024/2025 are:

Marissa Quashie, Arun Seenath, Adrienne D’Arcy, Dinesh Bhola, Keith André Mills, Haseeb Mohammed, Desmond Dial, Tamara Sieuraj, Christopher Ramjit, Edmund Phillips, Renée-Lisa Philip and Tanya Wright.
